Kuvaamani kotikohde: Paula / Espoo (+ äkkilähtö)

7.12.2018

Here shots from a beautiful home I´ve photoshooted for the finnish Unelmien Talo ja Koti magazine.
This home is Paulas and situated in Espoo.
Then a newsflash :D By a coincidence found a really nice and really cheap trip to Canary Islands. Soon I’ll be enjoying the sun and beachlife with my daughter instead of the rain and darkness!

Peak Experience-taidenäyttelymme Ivana Helsinki-talossa

18.11.2018

Näyttely on avoinna pe 28.11. asti arkisin klo 9-17 osoitteessa Palopirtintie 15, tervetuloa!
Suurensuuret kiitokset Ivana Helsinki tästä mahtavasta mahdollisuudesta

Tämä näyttely on hieman suppeampi tilanpuutteen vuoksi kuin Superwoodissa nähty mutta mukana on lähes kaikki samat taiteilijat, eli minun lisäkseni Ivana Helsinki, Jasmin Anoschkin, Katja Tukiainen, Kati Heljakka, Mikko Lagerstedt, Sampo Marjomaa, Mari Kasurinen, Krista Elomaa, Raisa Kettunen, Carina Laine, Jennifer Ramirez, Ruska Tapiovaara, Sasha Kretova, Mia Minerva, Yasmin May Yaafar sekä Henna Kallionkieli.

Kannattaa muuten scrollata postauksen loppuun ja lukea kattava lehdistötiedote (englanniksi) jossa tietoa näyttelyn synnystä ja kattava esittely taiteilijoista.

Kivaa alkavaa viikkoa
Johanna

PEAK EXPERIENCE EXTENDED Art Exhibition at IVANA HELSINKI TALO, NOVEMBER 1-28, 2018
Anoschkin, Elomaa, Heljakka, Ivana Helsinki, Kallionkieli, Kasurinen, Kettunen, Kretova, Lagerstedt, Laine, Lehtinen, Marjomaa, Minerva, Ramirez, Tapiovaara, Tukiainen, Yaafar

In 2016, 25 years had passed from the first broadcasting of Twin Peaks. The saga of the original cult television series that still attracts new audiences continued in 2017, when a new season created by Mark Frost and David Lynch, and directed by Lynch saw the daylight.

In the beginning of the 1990s I (Kati Heljakka) was a teenager, who after videotaping episodes of Twin Peaks with my sister, used to press the pause button every time Killer Bob appeared on the screen. After having been a fan of the series for decades, I have, during the past years explored Twin Peaks both as a toy and play scholar and as a visual artist. After having seen Raisa Kettunen’s re-playing of iconic Twin Peaks scenes with her Blythe doll, I dreamed up the idea of an art exhibition which would invite Finnish artists to participate in a group exhibition as Twin Peaks fans, players, creatives and contemporary artists. A dream team of ten artists was created, including a Columbian talent.

The Peak Experience EXTENDED team includes internationally recognized contemporary artists Jasmin Anoschkin, Mari Kasurinen, Katja Tukiainen, landscape photographer Mikko Lagerstedt, international art, design and fashion brand Ivana Helsinki, writer, performer and media artist Sampo Marjomaa, goldsmith and jewelry designer Henna Kallionkieli, visualists Johanna Lehtinen and Carina Laine, amigurumi artist Jennifer Ramirez, designer and illustrator Sasha Kretova and Mia Minerva, urban artist Yasmin May Yaafar (Yamahamay), photographer Ruska Tapiovaara, Twin Peaks fan artist Krista Elomaa, and photoplayers/toy photographers Raisa Kettunen and Kati Heljakka.

The name of our exhibition refers, besides Twin Peaks, to peak experiences theorized by psychologist Abraham Maslow (1908-1970). A peak experience stands for a moment of happiness and fulfilment, which has meaning to both wellbeing and mental development. Maslow placed the human desire for self-expression on the top of his hierarchy. When playing, a person may have a peak experience related to the use of imagination and limitless self-expression. Contemporary forms of play are often inspired by popular culture and the re-imagining of and toying with story worlds connected to transmedia phenomena have become emergent in both fandoms and in the context of art. Mimetic forms of play and multifaceted intertextual references to iconic popular productions are present in fan art and tributes of various kinds.

Our Peak Experience EXTENDED Art Exhibition plays with artworks and spatial atmospheres created with different techniques. It is an artistic tribute to the magic story world created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. In our exhibition minimalism meets maximalism, plastic meets organic materials and beauty is juxtaposed with terror. At the same time, humor, mischievousness and mystery are present.

This exhibition is a follow-up to the popular Peak Experience Replayed exhibition seen at this year’s Superwood Festival. It has been curated and produced by Finland-based post-doctoral researcher and artist Kati Heljakka. For more information, please contact katriina.heljakka@utu.fi

”I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling
it will be a place both wonderful and strange.”

 ARTIST INTRODUCTIONS

Jasmin Anoschkin (b. 1980) is a Helsinki-based sculptor, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Finland in 2004. The artist, who has been described as an effervescent expressionist, sculpts wood with axes and chainsaws and ceramics with a fierce touch. Her pieces are rough and rooted in the imaginary worlds of childhood, play and toys. Anoschkin had her first solo exhibition in 2003, after which she has exhibited her works on several occasions both in Finland and abroad (e.g. at Taidehalli, Purnu, Lönnströmin taidemuseo, Galleria Sculptor, Washington D.C., Nice and Berlin). In 2012 Anoschkin was elected as the Young Artist of Satakunta and in 2014 she became a member of the Arabia Art Department Society. Long walks on the sea shores give an animal friendly opportunity for this vegetarian to collect material for her pieces of art. The artist is also a part of gothic and metal music subcultures, which both have a major influence on her work. Photographing is also an important way of self expression to Krista Elomaa, you can follow her on Instagram @kristamiau

Tunnelmallinen IKEA-jouluilta

10.11.2018

Osoite on Palopirtintie 15, Marjaniemi. Näyttely on esillä 1.-28.11.2018 ja avoinna ma-pe klo 9-17.

Ihanaa viikonloppua
Johanna
